She studied Dramatic Art in the Superior School of Dramatic Arts in Murcia, Spain. 
She developed an interest in physical theatre and since 2010 has worked with the Studio Matejka in residence at the Grotowski Institute, Wroclaw, Poland, where she is part of a laboratory to investigate and create through physicality.
She has also led workshops in the Studio Matejka’s training for actors and dancers in Spain (Centro Párraga y Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Murcia).  Gema has eight years of experience with Karate Do Goju-Ryu. In June 2013 she collaborated with Vivien Wood in Exile, a dance theatre performance touring in England.
