BRYAN BROWN (USA)

Dramaturgy

began exploring psychophysical processes for performance in NYC where he worked on numerous theatre, dance, improv, and film projects.  His passion truly blossomed when he created ARTEL (american russian theatre ensemble laboratory) with Olya Petrakova in Los Angeles. He is thankful to have been artist-in-residence in Hooyang, South Korea in 2008.  He has recently been the assistant to the editors on the journal "Theatre, Dance", and Performance Training and taught at the Universities of Leeds and Salford. Currently he is completing his PhD studies at the University of Leeds, where his thesis refines conceptions of the theatre laboratory by tracing the history of the scientific laboratory, the visual artist’s studio, and the manifestations of the theatre laboratory in Russia.
